Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy version: 2026-09-11

This Privacy Policy explains what data AgroDealer (the desktop app, and its optional Mobile Companion app, made by FortiqAI Technologies LLP, “we”, “us”) sends to us, why, and what we do with it. It is a companion to the Terms of Use; if anything here and the Terms conflict on data handling, the Terms’ Section 8 controls.

1. The short version

AgroDealer is offline-first. Everything a dealer enters — farmer names, invoices, stock, payments — stays on the shop’s own computer. We only ever receive the four things listed below, and never in place of the shop’s own records. The one exception is the optional Mobile Companion app: if a shop chooses to pair a phone to it, farmer, stock, order, and payment data is synced through our cloud service so that one paired phone can show it — see Section 3.

2. What we receive, and why

  • Encrypted cloud backup — once a day, online licences only. So the shop can recover its data if the computer is lost, stolen, or fails. Encrypted on the shop’s own computer before it leaves the machine (see Section 4).
  • Install and activity signal — shop name, proprietor name, mobile number, app version, operating system, install date, and trial or licence status. Sent on first launch and about once a day after. Used to know how many shops use AgroDealer, follow up with trial shops, and plan support.
  • Crash report — device id, shop name, app version, operating system, and the technical error message. Sent only when the app hits a fatal error, online licences only. Used to find and fix bugs.
  • Licence check — licence key and device id. Sent on activation and about once a day when online. Used to enforce one licence per device and warn before expiry.

We do not receive farmer names, invoices, stock, payments, or any other business record, except as an opaque encrypted blob inside a cloud backup (see Section 4), or as described in Section 3 for a shop that has chosen to pair the Mobile Companion app. We do not receive anything at all from an offline (local-only) licence beyond the licence check itself — and a local-only licence cannot use the Mobile Companion app (Section 3).

3. The Mobile Companion app

The Mobile Companion app is a separate, optional phone app a shop can pair to its AgroDealer desktop, so the dealer can see shop information and do a limited set of tasks away from the desktop computer. It requires the shop’s licence to have this add-on enabled, and requires the shop’s cloud backup to be set to online mode — a shop on a local-only (offline) licence cannot use it, since it depends on the same cloud sync described in Section 4.

What syncs, and why. To show the paired phone shop data without needing the desktop computer nearby, the desktop app sends the following to our cloud service:

  • Farmer name, phone number, and village (not the farmer’s full address or any other detail);
  • Farmer and supplier due / payment amounts and payment history;
  • Stock levels, reorder thresholds, and supplier order / price-enquiry details;
  • Supplier name and outstanding balance;
  • Batch recall notices and spray-advice content the shop has sent or would send to farmers;
  • The shop’s own name and phone number, so the phone app can show which shop it is paired to.

This is the same data a farmer or supplier’s own records already contain in the shop’s desktop database — the Mobile Companion app does not collect anything new, it mirrors a subset of it so the paired phone can display it.

Pairing. A shop pairs one phone to its licence by scanning a one-time QR code shown in the desktop app’s Settings. The phone identifies itself with a random id generated on the phone at pairing time — not a hardware id such as an IMEI or advertising id — used only to enforce one phone per shop licence. The shop can unpair the phone at any time from desktop Settings, which immediately stops the phone from accessing shop data.

Where it is stored, and who sees it. Sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored on the same Cloudflare infrastructure described in Section 5, under our control. We do not sell it or share it with anyone else for marketing or advertising. It is never shared with a different shop — each shop’s Mobile Companion data is kept separate and accessible only to that shop’s own paired phone and desktop.

How long we keep it, and deletion. Kept while the shop’s Mobile Companion access stays active (add-on enabled, licence in online mode). If a shop unpairs its phone, disables the add-on, or switches to offline mode, the data stops syncing further and the phone loses access immediately; deleting the already-synced data itself is currently handled by writing to us at the contact in Section 11 rather than a self-serve in-app control — we are working on an in-app option.

4. Encrypted backups: what “encrypted” means here

If a shop’s licence is set to online mode, once a day (when the computer has internet) the app encrypts the shop’s entire database on the shop’s own computer, then uploads that encrypted file. We store it as ciphertext. We cannot read a farmer’s name, a bill amount, or any other business detail inside it — we only hold an unreadable blob until the shop restores it back onto a device running AgroDealer with the shop’s own key.

5. Where data is stored, and who else sees it

  • Encrypted backups, install / activity / crash / licence data, and Mobile Companion data (Section 3) are stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (Workers, R2 object storage, and D1 database), operated for us under Cloudflare’s own data-processing terms.
  • We do not sell data, and we do not share it with anyone else for marketing or advertising.
  • AgroDealer drafts WhatsApp messages and opens them in WhatsApp for the dealer to review and send themselves. We are not a party to that message once it is sent, and Meta / WhatsApp’s own privacy policy governs it from that point.

6. How long we keep it

  • Encrypted backups: only the single most recent one is kept, replaced daily. Retained while the licence is active, and for 90 days after it lapses, then deleted.
  • Install / activity, crash, and licence-check records: kept while the shop uses AgroDealer, for the purposes in Section 2. Deleted on request (see Section 8).
  • Mobile Companion data: see Section 3.

7. Security

Backups are encrypted before they leave the shop’s computer. Mobile Companion data travels over an encrypted connection. Access to our backend is restricted to the people who operate the licence and backup service. As with any software, we cannot guarantee absolute security — see the Terms’ warranty disclaimer.

8. Your rights

The shop (or a farmer / supplier whose details the shop has entered) can ask us, at the contact below, to: tell them what data we hold that relates to them; correct it where it is data we hold directly (shop / proprietor / contact details — not a farmer’s business records, which live only on the dealer’s own computer and are the dealer’s to correct); or delete their encrypted backup, install / activity records, or synced Mobile Companion data, subject to Section 6’s retention for active licences.

A farmer or supplier’s personal details (name, phone, village, and similar) are entered and controlled by the shop, not by us — we only ever see them as part of an encrypted backup blob we cannot read, or, for a shop using Mobile Companion, as the synced fields listed in Section 3. A request about that data should go to the shop first; we can delete the encrypted backup or synced Mobile Companion data containing it on the shop’s instruction.

9. Children

AgroDealer is business software for adult shop operators. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we bump the version at the top. The current version is always available in the app (Settings → About) and on this page.
